Lunga River is the seventh level of Battlefield II war story Isles of the Pacific. Campo's squad is sent on the patrol in the region of Lunga river on Guadalcanal. While making reconaissance they heard gunshots and found dead American soldiers. Campo and Gates are sent to check the forward positions. They climb on the high point and see a group of Japanese soldiers crossing the river. When they go back to report Owens, they find 4 Japanese soldiers preparing the machine gun to perform an ambush. Player can simply shoot them, but it will reveal his position. If player eliminates them quickly or simply pass through them, he'll complete side quest. Player can also steal the Type 92 machine gun, which can be useful later on the level.
After Campo and Gates return to squad, they continue the patrol. After engaging some Japanese they find an outpost. Player has to capture it and can also blow up ammo depot. After doing this, squad goes to the waterfall, where they're ambushed by enemies. After surviving the ambush, Campo's squad arrives to the jungle wetlands, where they eliminate rest of Japanese assault group.
At the end of the level, Japanese artillery strikes the American patrol. Campo gets launched by the blast. Later, a Japanese soldier runs to him and takes proceeds to take Campo alive by hitting him with rifle stock. Campo gets hit and becomes unconcious...
